Communication with Faculty FAQ

  1. If I want to discuss an issue regarding my child's academic progress, how should I go about it?
Your first line of communication should be with your child's teachers.  The best way to contact them is either through e-mail or through phone (both can be accessed through the Mahopac website under Directory)
  1. If my child is having trouble with a teacher, how do I go about addressing the issue?
Your first line of communication should be with the teacher.  If the issue still is not resolved, a meeting between the student, parent, teacher, and counselor can be  scheduled to further discuss the matter and to suggest strategies that will help resolve it.  Typically, this type of meeting is very solution-focused and results in an action plan to allow for the issue to be properly assessed in the time frame specified.
